What Works Best When Training Your Dog?

Here’s one thing that doesn’t work – punishing your dog in a harsh way while trying to train him or her. Punishment is not a training aid and it only instills fear and distraction in the dog.  It does little to foster willingness to learn and achieve.

When training your dog – especially the free puppies to good home types – do not add more stress than they can handle.  Limit yourself to a firm no.  Anything more than that will be a distraction.

Display extreme levels of patience and persistence, and never give up -  Dogs need to see a level of determination and consistency on your part while they are being trained.
