Writing a General Interest Blog Is Similar to Keeping a Diary

My interest in writing began years ago when my aunt gave me a diary for my tenth birthday.  Every night before going to bed I recorded the events of the day and my feelings, hopes, and dreams for the future.  At that time the future was the fifth grade.  After I filled my first diary, I bought a new one and continued writing.  By the time I graduated from high school I had filled eight diaries and five notebooks with the triumphs and tragedies that occurred during my school years.  Now instead of keeping a diary I write a General Interest Blog about my family, pets, hobbies, favorite sports teams, and my political views.  It is very similar to writing in my diary, only now I let everyone read what I write instead of keeping it under lock and key.
