FOSTER KIDS GET DONATED LUGGAGE THEY NEED
Members of the police departments who are located in Tallahassee, Florida along with members of a local charitable agency are getting together to help and provide some needed materials for foster kids living in the area. The program is called the Luggage for kids program and the people organizing the event have suggested that one of the reasons kids in foster care might be in need of kids luggage and other donated materials is because they always move from house to house and it is often the case that they don’t get to bring anything with them when they leave.
It is for this reason that the police department and other charitable individuals are helping to put together backpacks full of nice items for the foster kids so that they feel as though they have their own belongings even though they might be moving from home to home. When a foster kid has access to a few items that are considered his own, he will very often be able to enjoy a larger sense of security than if he hadn’t had access to just a few items.
Right now the police department in Tallahassee is currently looking for luggage that is either new or has been used only slightly and is in good condition to donate to the kids. Anyone who wishes to donate a backpack is welcome to drop it off at the Tallahassee Police Department. All donations will go to help kids find a sense of belonging when they’re in the foster care system.
